Terrible Duet

28 August, 2006

Only three of us showed up in the church choir last Sunday. Jim was the cantor of the day, meanwhile Elli and I sang in soprano. Since practicing in the music room minutes before the mass, I knew it was going terrible. We were both unfamiliar with most of the songs. Elli used to sing in alto and she sounds sort of flat, false and low, and she was barely to hear (sorry Elli!). I myself always have pitch problems that sometimes I couldn't reach the high notes and I have to admit that I couldn't sing out loud as well as other sopranos do. Don't you think it sounds we were a terrific terrible match? However, Jim the best male vocalist in our group turned out to be the hero who has saved our disaster yesterday. He covered up all the songs we both sounded a little bit pitchy most of the time, he knew all the songs we sang that Sunday, although I knew he had a bit doubt on a new pianist who was first time ever playing music for our group. In the end of the mass, Elli said something nice about me that I sounded perfect and was able to sing in the right tune, only I need to improve myself how to sound with more power. It was surprising me, though! I never knew I have "that talent". In fact, I do love to sing no matter I could or I couldn't be able doing it well. Anyhow, I told Elli I won't be confident doing duet in soprano again. I'd rather be sitting in the congregations than performing trouble on the stage.

Is Halloween Here?

Transform Comfortable from Uncomfortable

21 August, 2006

*bragging mode* I am proud of myself to announce you that I have improved my sewing skill one step ahead. Look at the picture. I've challenged myself to convert the uncomfortable chair to be comfortable one. I did it! Who said bragging is unhealthy? As long as it's not for negative impact, why not?

Giant Herb

19 August, 2006

Have you ever seen 10 feet Parsley instead of 10 inch Parsley? Take a look here..

giant vs short

Its real name is Giant Hogweed actually. According to its biology and morphology, this plant is a member of Parsley family. Unlike some people do that they plant this "giant herb" for ornamental purpose, I kept using it as an herb just like any other parsleys I plant in some flower pots. But soon I figured out this is not a right parsley to consume, I quit using them for cooking ingredients. That's it, another story from my garden!

Another Alert!

15 August, 2006

Shoot! Virginia didn't make it. One big mistake she has ever done is to pick Keith as her team. No wonder she handed herself the loss. She should have been aware that this person won't be any good for helping her. You could tell from the way he was acting during the show: he didn't care, he laughed at her, and he wanted money as a guarantee. Oh well, it's just a show anyway!

Heat wave alert is over, here comes another alert. Yeah, the air travel alert. This has happened since the news uncovered the London plot of 24 suspected terrorists who have been arrested last week by British police & British Intelligence. The airports now tighten the restrictions over the air travelers such as:

- Liquids, including drinks, toothpaste, perfume, shampoo, hair gel, suntan lotion and similar items, are banned from carry-on luggage and can not be taken through security checkpoints. Drinks purchased in the airport can not be carried onto flights.

- Medications will be allowed but must be presented for inspection at security checkpoints.

- Baby Formula and breast milk can be brought onboard if a child is traveling.

- Shoes must be removed and screened by an X-ray machine.

- Passengers are asked to arrive at least two hours before flight time to allow for additional screening.

- Laptop computers, cell phones and iPods are among the items banned from British flight. (source from Newsweek)

Well, you'd better prepare yourself being comfortably and easily screened by the security at the airport. I'm sure many of you would find many ways for doing that better. Or you may try this way:

One More To Go

10 August, 2006

Regardless what people and other 2 left chef contestants say that Virginia shouldn't be in final two, I'm rooting for her since the beginning. Her leading skill has been proved last Monday in first final episode. The most important is she got attitude, meanwhile the other two final contestants, Keith and Heather, had cruel attitude and jealousy over Virginia. I am glad Keith didn't make it to finale. Soon asked to leave the competition, he talked something trash about Ramsey. What a loser! Hope Virginia wins.. Go Virginia!!

Who Do We Look Like?

08 August, 2006

Playing fun with this site. Several pictures of mine feature several celebrities. It doesn't mean I am a chameleon, ain't I? The funny thing is three of them (I put two here) show how I look like a mean-looking actress Shannen Doherty who deals with anger management problem. Do I like mean? Only people would tell me..

resembling to Halle Berry, Julianne Moore,
Anna Kournikova, Kim Hee-sun, Shannen Doherty

resembling to Alec Baldwin,
George Harrison, Gerard Depardieu, Jeff Buckley

Ps. Anyhow, I am not quite familiar with some of them.

Super.. Super Hot!

02 August, 2006

My goodness! The temperature is going nuts nowadays. I can't believe it has reached highly above the temperature in Indonesia, my home country. I think it hit 100s yesterday but I felt like higher than 100s with the humidity. This means it is extremely dangerous to do anything outside, particularly under the sun heat. As strongly advised for most of the area in USA, we need to stay in a cool location as much as possible and to drink lots of water unless we'd get sick or dehydrated. Speaking of global warming which has been issued everywhere, listen to this:

The earth is no longer in a state of global warming.
It is now HOT! (by Newsweek)
