From Ground To Table

The vegetables look so beautiful, yet their freshness is so fleeting. It should be definitely agreed that nothing healthier than pick-fresh vegetables from your own garden. Agree? Here I proudly present my Swiss chard (fresh and cooked) from the garden produce in my little own backyard. Stay tune for more garden story to come...

Healthy Way Of Life

18 July, 2006

hicks.. no more heavenly food to eat everyday! From now on, I have to cut down all foods containing high sugar and high carbohydrates such as sweet juicy fruits, banana, ice cream, chocolate, cake, rice, noodle, potatoes, more and more. Instead, I need to consume lot of chicken, seafood, beef, salads, and nuts. Yeah I've gained weight about 5 lbs in a year, from 97 lbs to 102 lbs. Blame the winter, not me huh! Wait, it's not about losing weight I shall be in diet. Based on my blood work result, I have high sugar contained in my blood which is not healthy for sure. It could direct me to have a diabetic disease in next 10 years if I keep staying with my old style of life. My set-new-goal is to become a healthy lifestyle. As what doctor said, I have to go with SouthBeach Diet. Hope it goes well, hope I won't be like the girl in the picture hihihi...

Ps. Foods in the picture are rice, fried fish in hot pepper sauce (sambel ikan goreng), and Indonesian fish spicy soup (ikan woku). All were my dinner last night, unfortunately rice is one of my diet lists now.

The Hero Of The Sea

14 July, 2006

He is not Captain Hook. He is not as bad as other pirates we use to see in the movie. His heart is not as ugly as his dirty face which has gold teeth and outrageous eyeliner. He is a great fighter just like any other pirate. The important thing is he has sense of humor, though he is not a comedian. Yes, he is Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean (who else should I talk about? Nobody of the pirates who got those characters, right!).

Even without seeing the first movie (The Curse of the Black Pearl), we had wonderful time watching the second version: Dead Man's Chest. It seems that Sparrow owes a debt to Mr. Jones, a rather odd-looking fellow whose horrible octopus beard and lobster-claw hands. He is notoriously known as a ruler of the ocean depths and captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman ship which no other ship can match in speed and stealth. To escape from the curse and another curse, Capt. Jack has to find the key to unlock a mysterious box known as the "Dead Man's Chest" where Jones' soul of life is desperately given up because of his broken heart. He cheats Will and Elizabeth by using his trick to make up the misadventures. Unfortunately, the plot of the story ends up with confusing moment whether Capt. Jack would be able to survive from the most scary sea monster or not? Or I would say that the ending is such a clever trick that it leaves you hungry for Pirates version 3. Oh yeah, I can't wait to see next version.

Anyhow, I must say this is the best summer movie of the summer. I've got what I did expect from watching this movie, from the action to the humor (for sure). I'll tell you what, my summer treat won't be fun without it!

Lazy Summer Days

07 July, 2006

I think I've got "lazy summer" germs from out of no where that make me incredibly lazy to write something in my blog. Or it might be just my excuse? Don't know why nothing inspire me this time. My feet can not be compromised sometimes just to stay at home, particularly when the weather is perfect. They pushed me to do something outside the house or to stay away from the house, doing window shopping for example. Well, what else could you do during these lazy-hazy-crazy days? (not mention vacation to the beach though!)
