Oink..Oink! Piggie Year?
20 February, 2007
The year of the golden pig has come!
In my country where I used to live, the celebration of Chinese new year has been admitted legally as a national holiday since 5 years ago (?). Though I am not a part of the community and even I don't believe about their superstitions saying that the year of the golden pig always brings good luck, money and prosperity in terms of wealth (being wealthy is always on their top rank, I wonder why?), all I know pig is a pig no matter what! I am talking about how good my breakfast is with the bacon strips and omelet on the plate, or how delicious it is to get baby back ribs bbq in Famous Dave's restaurant. As we all know that pig is such a dirty animal in the world, I can't help to eat them ..oh well! hihihi..

There are a lot of traditions associated with Chinese New Year, and so many of them have to do with food! Unfortunately I am not knowledgeable enough about any kind of menu they use to have during the celebration.
Anyhow, reading news about this Chinese new year has inspired me to cook Hainanese Chicken Rice yesterday. It was so good!!
Winter Depression? Not at all
08 February, 2007
Somehow I disagree when people say that the winter is such gloomy season. They even call it in worst way as SAD (Seasonal Affected Depression). However, I understand some of you may feel sluggish and gloomy during this season because you won't enjoy the sunlight as much as you do during other seasons. I admit sometimes I do have dark mood, too, like usual people do, but it's exactly not because of the winter.
What I love to do during these days is reading. You may find some other indoor activities that keep you busy during this season. At least it keeps your mind active. This morning I've finished reading the book 7 (out of 7 books) of
The Chronicles Of Narnia. They are all fantastic! Each book has a different story but it has a connecting story line between them. The story of book 1 has been made into a movie. We've seen this movie in the cinema but I don't remember when it was, either last year or a couple of years ago (read
here). They should make the other six books into movies, too! I can imagine how wonderful that movie would be!
Brrr..

Is there anyone out there who can explain to me why this day is getting dreadfully cold? Mind you with your ridiculous global warming theory??
Hope you can all see now that the weather is changed up and down naturally because God manages every detail of this process. No one can discover how this happens. Agree?? (I am pretty sure whoever says "no" is someone who absolutely don't believe in God)
