Thursday Evening Reflection
29 September, 2006
Last night we didn't do the choir practice as usual. Instead, we had a "music ministry evening" when we spent a time of prayer and reflection on just what we do and why we do it.

I was so impressed by all the songs and lyrics (by David Kauffman) we listened to. They are all beautiful, sweet, touching and spiritual. Among pages in journal book each of us is given, I've found the simple-but-impressive words that trigger my spirit a lot. It tells about singing in church choir is not a performance, it's a prayer to God. So, it's not about me, my voice or us as a group. It's about God! We sing the word of God, and God wants that word to accomplish the purpose He intends. I tell these not to excuse myself that I don't have a great vocal as most of the choir members do, although I have to admit I am not that good enough. I sing my own way, I let it out just like that, or let it go with the flow. In the end, I believe God will take care of the rest.
Even though I missed my favorite tv shows, Ugly Betty (the premier show) and Celebrity Duets, I have no regret at all being in music ministry reflection last night. It's worth it after all. I mean "worth it" here is not about the desserts we had during the break, nor the CD of David Kauffman and journal book we got free last night, but truly it is about the self-reflection I've been through last night.
Ps. My favorite song is Feed the Forgotten Soul. Check it out

Celebrate The Season
25 September, 2006
A different season means a different taste, a different mood, different colors, last but not least a different web-page of mine. However, I am still the same person for sure! Most of the features refer to the autumn color such as brown, burgundy, etc. as the leaves are turning all the shades of red and brown during the season. I have to admit that the Fall is my favorite time of the year because, as I mention earlier, it is so beautiful with all the leaves turning colors. Happy Fall y'all!
The Joy of Soup
21 September, 2006
Autumn is right in the corner. However, the weather has been turning cold , on and off, during these past two weeks. When it comes to eat, I need something comfort to warm me enough. Yeap, a bowl of warm soup. What is it about the cooler weather that makes a warm soup seem so comforting? The aroma of a pot of soup simmering on the back of the stove, the steam coming off the soup bowl, and the smell of the spices scenting the air...Hmmm! The picture below is the chicken meatball soup (bakso Loa Hoa) I cooked the other day. The only thing I could say is "comfort like nothing else". *slurrrp*
The Crop Of The Year
16 September, 2006
I grew them from the seeds of rotten tomatoes and Thai peppers. The came out to be my favorite plants of the year. Enjoy them!
Remember When
15 September, 2006
Remember when they grew up from little tiny seeds to be tall giant plants
Remember when they overjoyed at the rising of the sun
Remember when they danced over the wind blows
Remember when they were happy to feed the birds with their fresh young seeds
For all the year you have had
We will remember when
The variety of my sunflowers
Who likes to wear it?
09 September, 2006

Is she a victim of flying shoes thrown by someone incidently?
In fact, she is a model who displays a creation by Japanese designer Kazuo Takashima during the 2007 Spring & Summer Tokyo Collection in Tokyo. To me, it just looks trashy. I bet nobody (normal people I mean) would wear it except for Halloween event!
Love Begins at Home
08 September, 2006
He finds a passion from his wife's cooking. No wonder he loves to have an intimate dinner at home, instead of hassling himself with crowded-noisy restaurants, ridiculous prices (sometimes), and crazy traffic. Watch out, ladies! If your husband loves eating out somewhere in restaurants (at least he gets excited every time he asks you to dine out), that's the sign he doesn't like your cooking! hihihi...
home-made satay, crabcake, siomay...mmm yummie!
