Should Be Turkey?
27 November, 2006

No, I don't think there is a significant rule what you have to cook on Thanksgiving. Well.. as commonly known, turkey is the most popular meal that most people should have on their table of feast. However, turkey is not a must-have on my cooking lists. This time we didn't celebrate Thanksgiving day with our big family in North Carolina as we usually did. It means I must have been the in-charge (chef) of the house who will decide what to cook and what to eat.

Our menu was just like what any other people eat during the holiday except turkey. Yeah, we had Cornish hen instead. For some reason, we both like eating a tasty small bird better than a plain-tasted giant bird.
Guess what? The next day, I cooked rendang (beef curry) and lontong sayur (rice cake in curry soup) as what I always claim that my holiday is never complete without eating Indonesian spicy cooking.
Ps. The recipe of the pomegranate-juice-coating Cornish hens is actually not a courtesy of mine. I adopt it from
Paula Deen: Honey Game Hens plus I add the marinade with the unseeded pomegranate juice when it comes to baking time.
